Reading Day
Reading Day is a fun way for local community school children to get excited about reading. each year, the Literacy Corps invites local elementary schools to the Virginia Tech campus to listen to storys, to make arts and crafts, and to engage in fun-filled activites. The Literacy Corps provides each student with a complimentary book so that they can continue participating in the joy of reading at home. If you are interested in finding out how your school can participate in the Reading Day we are planning for spring of 2009, the information on this page should provide be helpful. Reading Day is made possible by the generous dontations of Virginia Tech and the surrounding community. Without this help, the Literacy Corps would not have the arts and crafts or the complimentary books that we provide for each child who attends Reading Day.
