Virginia Tech Community Literacy Corps

For Parents

The Virginia Tech Community Literacy Corps is a community service program that aims to assist struggling students with their reading, writing, and skills in mathematics. We have approximately 80 Virginia Tech students each semester that serve as tutors for local elementary school children. Our tutors work under the supervision of your child's own teacher in their classroom. In addition to in-class tutoring, the Literacy Corps is ready to work one-on-one with your child in an after-school setting at the Blacksburg Public Library on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45pm thru 5:45pm. The outreach of the Literacy Corps operates in the interest of the student and comes at no charge to you if you wish to take advantage of our services. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact us.
